Job Title: Cost Accountant

Description

Assists the Corporate Controller in leading the organization’s accounting operations, including cost accounting, accounts payable, and financial reporting. Supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of financial reporting tools, budgeting processes, and planning systems. Oversees the preparation and review of periodic financial statements and required regulatory filings. Ensures compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and standardized procedures across the organization. May provide training, mentorship, and oversight to accounting team members. Coordinates with external and internal auditors to support audit activities.

Analyze manufacturing costs, work‑in‑process, inventory valuations, and variances.Prepare cost reports and recommend opportunities for cost improvements.Maintain standard costs and support periodic cost roll‑ups and cost updates.Conduct margin analysis, product costing, and profitability assessments.Support general ledger activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close processes.Assist in preparing financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings.Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and GAAP.Assist in developing department and organizational budgets.Provide insights and analyses to support strategic planning and decision‑making.Track budget performance and recommend corrective actions where needed.Support the implementation and maintenance of financial reporting and budgeting systems.Utilize accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, etc.) and advanced Excel to improve reporting efficiency.Help drive standardization and process improvements across accounting operations.Coordinate with internal and external auditors.Prepare audit schedules, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly.Ensure all accounting procedures are properly documented and consistently followed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance Manufacturing Industry ExperienceAccounting Software Experience (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, etc.)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.27/hr.
