Job Title: Cost AccountantJob Description The Cost Accountant will play a key role in financial performance analysis, cost modeling, budgeting, reporting, and operational support. This individual supports site leadership, finance, and project teams by ensuring accurate costing, reliable KPIs, and effective decision-making tools. Responsibilities + Develop and maintain financial and operational reports for activities, products, and projects. + Perform scheduled performance analyses versus objectives, budget, forecasts, and prior year. + Determine cost structures, cost prices, and standard vs. actual cost returns. + Participate in budget creation and forecasting of financial indicators. + Implement tools, processes, and escalation paths to ensure accurate, timely KPIs and metrics. + Prepare performance reports for General Management and Finance/Administration teams. + Support ERP design or module development. + Serve as a costing expert to Business Managers, Controllers, and Analysts. + Contribute to capex applications, tracking, valuations, and post mortem analysis. + Support accounting closing processes, including forecast estimates and production operation closures. + Manage and/or support inventory processes, including counting, valuation, and provisions. Essential Skills + 3-5 years of financial/cost accounting experience. + Bachelor’s degree in a related field. + Experience in a manufacturing environment. + Strong analytical and reporting skills. + Proficiency in cost accounting, general ledger, cost analysis, inventory management, and financial statements. + Experience with ERP systems, with involvement in ERP optimization being a plus. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree OR 6–10 years of equivalent financial/cost accounting experience. + Experience in month-end reporting and SAP financial reporting. Work Environment This is a Monday to Friday, first shift position that is based onsite in an office environment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Bay City, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $82250.00 - $82250.00/yr.
