Cost Accountant

Based in Orange, VA, this role supports the Plant Controller and plays a key part in interpreting and reporting manufacturing costs, supporting monthly and annual financial processes, and contributing to forecasting, budgeting, and product costing activities. **In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** + Support monthly close activities, including cost‑of‑sales and inventory‑related journal entries, plant expense accruals, allocations, and reporting requirements. + Investigate monthly plant variances by reviewing actual versus forecasted expenditures. + Assist in preparing and analyzing cost reports, budgets, and financial performance data.Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. + Provide routine reporting and analysis of plant efficiency metrics. + Support internal audit activities, including reconciliation of the annual physical inventory. + Assist in implementing financial systems, policies, and procedures as needed. + Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives. **Who You Are:** You take ownership of your work and follow through on commitments.
