Description Position Summary The Cost Accountant will be responsible for owning and analyzing manufacturing cost data, inventory valuations, cost variances, and gross margin performance. This role partners closely with Operations, Engineering, and Finance to ensure accurate costing, identify drivers of variance, and improve cost visibility throughout the business. Key Responsibilities Analyze product and manufacturing costs, including BOM accuracy, labor, overhead, and material cost updates. Review and reconcile inventory accounts (WIP, raw materials, finished goods), aging, E&O, MRB, non‑nettable inventory, and cost adjustments. (Cost Accountant | Word) Perform variance analysis (PPV, scrap, yield, absorption, DL/IDL, overhead, freight, EDM, etc.) and identify root causes with cross‑functional teams. (Cost Accountant | Word) Review quotes vs. actual costs and ensure proper documentation and support for standard cost updates. (Cost Accountant | Word) Prepare monthly cost and margin reporting, including VAM%, customer P&L cost views, and site‑level performance reporting. Review AR/AP conciliation as it relates to cost items and support resolution of open items, including AP debits or invoice discrepancies.
