Cost Accountant
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team in Burlington, North Carolina. In this role, you will play a critical part in analyzing and maintaining accurate cost records, supporting budgeting efforts, and ensuring inventory accuracy. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate across departments and contribute to operational efficiency within a dynamic manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: + Accurately document and maintain detailed records of manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, and overhead. + Perform thorough investigations of cost variances, providing in-depth analysis, root cause identification, and detailed reporting. + Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes by delivering accurate and insightful cost-related data and analysis. + Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to refine cost modeling approaches and enhance overall efficiency. + Supervise inventory transactions and conduct monthly reconciliations to maintain accuracy and compliance. + Prepare and deliver detailed cost reports to management, offering strategic insights and actionable recommendations. + Track and manage inventory movements and balances across multiple locations, ensuring proper documentation and controls are in place. + Lead initiatives focused on inventory accuracy, including cycle counts, variance investigations, and corrective measures. + Work closely with production and warehouse teams to optimize inventory management systems and processes. + Facilitate physical inventory counts and oversee preparations for both internal and external audits. Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline. + At least 3 years of experience in cost accounting, specifically within a manufacturing environment. + Proficient in SAP and skilled in advanced Microsoft Excel functions. + Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) practices or similar continuous improvement methodologies is preferred. + Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities, paired with excellent communication skills. + Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on plant environment. + Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) is considered an advantage. + Background in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
