Description We are looking for a skilled Cost Accountant to join our team at a manufacturing firm.. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing inventory accuracy and supporting multiple locations while ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical abilities and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities: • Conduct detailed inventory analysis to ensure accuracy and proper valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. • Collaborate with plant teams to address and resolve accounting discrepancies related to inventory. • Perform variance analysis to identify and report deviations in cost standards or inventory valuations. • Analyze general ledger accounts associated with inventory and provide actionable insights for improvement. • Support multiple locations by maintaining consistency in inventory accounting processes and standards. • Prepare financial reports related to inventory and costing for management review. • Utilize advanced Excel skills to manage and analyze large datasets effectively. • Ensure compliance with manufacturing accounting practices and industry regulations. • Provide guidance on inventory control measures and cost optimization strategies. • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve overall financial and operational performance.. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. • Proven experience in manufacturing accounting, including inventory management and cost analysis. • Strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions for data analysis. • Solid understanding of general ledger accounts and variance analysis. • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with plant teams and management. • Ability to manage multiple locations and ensure consistent accounting practices. • Detail-oriented with strong analytical problem-solving skills. • Familiarity with standard costing methods and inventory control processes.
