Job Title: Cost Accountant

Job Description

A global leader in life sciences is seeking a Cost Accountant/Analyst to join their team. This role is vital in providing timely, accurate financial insights to support data-driven decision-making and optimize spending across support functions. The Cost Accountant will deliver financial review and analytical support across designated business units or functional areas, contributing to strategic planning.

ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary financial partner for operations, evaluating the cost impact of changes in manufacturing processes.Collaborate with Supply Chain to analyze inventory variances and develop strategies to meet financial targets.Support monthly financial reviews, including variance analysis and performance reporting.Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic financial projections.Provide financial support for daily operations and ad hoc business initiatives.Maintain and enhance financial systems used for reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.Support the evaluation and management of capital expenditure projects.Prepare ad hoc reports and perform special assignments as needed.Essential SkillsProficiency in cost accounting, Excel, and ERP systems.Expertise in cost analysis, forecasting, and variance analysis.Strong understanding of inventory accounting and reconciliation.Experience with month-end processes, SAP, Oracle, and financial statement preparation.Knowledge of budgeting, general ledger, GAAP, and financial reporting.Ability to perform audits, analysis, and manage standard costs.CPA certification or equivalent knowledge.Skill in journal entry, fixed asset management, and bank reconciliation.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA is preferred.4+ years of experience in finance or accounting, including cost accounting.Minimum of 2 years working in a manufacturing environment.CMA certification is highly preferred.Experience with large ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.Advanced skills in Excel, including Vlookup and Pivot Tables.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial modeling.High attention to detail and accuracy.Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $47.00/hr.
