Cost Accountant
Description Join a results-driven finance team where your insights make an impact. We’re seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to play a key role in cost control, financial analysis, and operational efficiency within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This is a highly visible role, working closely with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to deliver meaningful cost insights and support strategic initiatives. 🔍 Key Responsibilities: + Perform in-depth cost analysis to monitor and control company expenses. + Analyze and report on manufacturing costs, comparing standard vs. actual production results. + Prepare actionable cost reports and recommendations for management. + Maintain JD Edwards general ledger and upload financials to HFM (Crane Co consolidation system). + Track and validate Cycle Counts, ensuring compliance to maintain physical inventory exemption. + Reconcile inventory variances, manage valuation accuracy, and report on slow-moving or obsolete items. + Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities and efficiency improvements. + Collaborate with production and purchasing teams to support cost-effective operations. + Contribute to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX 404) risk assessments and internal controls. + Support internal and external audits, ensuring accurate financial reporting. + Prepare comprehensive monthly financials, including: + Financial Statements + Cash Flow + Inventory Turns + Capital Spending + Order Backlog + Product Line Reporting + Headcount & other KPIs + Maintain and reconcile Fixed Asset records and Capital Expenditure approvals. + Support budgeting and forecasting activities. + Manage Travel Card and P-Card programs. + Prepare sales and property tax filings. + Assist with special projects and provide financial insights for decision-making. ✅ Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred. + 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. + Strong working knowledge of JD Edwards, HFM, and Microsoft Excel. + Demonstrated understanding of inventory accounting, cost analysis, and internal controls. + Experience with SOX compliance and financial reporting. + Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into strategic recommendations. + Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
