Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Safety and Health Supervisor at our Cortez operation. The successful candidate will engage with several key internal and external stakeholders to initiate and support safe and responsible mining operations.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the direct supervision of safety and health divisional, training, and business partner management coordinators
Communicate, coach, and assist in the field to ensure safety expectations are understood and met.
Conduct regular performance review and professional development plans for team.
Participate in the development of site strategic safety and health planning and objectives.
Participate with alignment of Corporate initiatives and mandates.
Communicate effectively with operations and all levels of management to support and participate in the implementation of the Integrated Management System (IMS).
Regularly review and be familiar with all applicable regulations and standards to ensure compliance.
Regularly review and be familiar with ISO45001 requirements provide direction, support, and resources at all levels to ensure compliance.
Ensure safe and efficient operations through leadership, coaching and compliance to the company’s IMS.
Support operational objectives through leadership focused on team safety, environmental compliance, and Nevada Gold Mines Core Values.
Participate and assist in the investigation process to ensure compliance with the IMS Incident Management and Investigation Standard.
Support the effective use of the EHS management systems to ensure standardization and consistency of reporting, tracking, and trending of data.
Perform Safety & Health on-call responsibilities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health, Safety or related fields preferred
Minimum of five (5) years of underground and surface mining experience required
Minimum of two (2) years’ supervisory experience preferred
Previous demonstrated experience related to Safety and Health Management Systems required
Proven attention to detail with a high level of accuracy required
Excellent organizational, time management and office management skills required
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently required
Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal skills, with a courteous and pleasant customer service focus required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
Capability to multi-task, self-manage and self-motivate required
Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards required
Ability to perform the essential functions of this job required
