The Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) serves youth who have been adjudicated delinquent or Families in Need of Services (FINS). We are responsible for youth assigned to our care by the court system, either for supervision or custody in residential placement or secure care. Minimum Qualifications Two years of food service experience or training in an institutional, hospital, military or commercial food service operation; OR Twenty-four semester hours in food and nutrition, dietetics, or institutional management; OR Possession of a permanent or provisional Louisiana dietitian/nutritionist license plus one year of licensed dietetics experience. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: + Supervises Juvenile Corrections Food Production Workers, including training new staff on kitchen policies, food preparation procedures, and safety protocols. + Oversees daily food preparation and cooking, ensuring proper methods, portion control, and adherence to approved menus. + Maintains kitchen cleanliness and equipment sanitation, directing staff in cleaning the kitchen, dining area, and all food service equipment. + Ensures compliance with security regulations, monitoring both staff and student offenders in all food service areas. + Manages food inventory and storage, including requisitioning, receiving, and securely storing food supplies.
