Join our team of dedicated Behavioral Health Corrections Guard Therapeutic and make a positive impact in the lives of those in need. We are seeking a compassionate and professional to join our team and provide essential support to individuals and families in our District. Minimum Qualifications
Six months of experience in a forensic, behavioral, correctional, or penal institution with responsibility for the security, custody, clinical care or rehabilitation of offenders.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Responsible for assuring the safety and security of clients, staff, vendors, and the general public that enters the facility.
+ Recognizes and intervenes by de-escalating disturbed/aggressive behavior.
+ Incumbent transports clients to necessary appointments or hospital visits.
+ Guard outside the Therapy Room to provide assistance with those patients who have a history of violence.
+ Participates and assists with the clinical treatment staff with clients in therapeutic activities.
+ Records behavioral observations, signs/symptoms, accidents, takes and records vital signs, helps obtain and record urine drug screens of clients.
+ Prevents contraband from being introduced onto the mental health/substance abuse grounds.
+ Enforces smoking policy.
+ Maintains these records in the appropriate client’s chart as required while maintaining confidentiality.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational or Job Appointment.
**Note regarding the advertised pay range: The advertised maximum amount listed is the maximum salary a person can make while in this title/level over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
Work Schedule: 12-hours Night or Day Shift with rotating weekend.
Location: Capital Area Recovery Program (CARP),a 24-hour substance abuse facility.
Requirement: This position requires the incumbent to drive as part of his/her regular job duties. Incumbent must possess a valid driver's license upon hire.
