Job Title: Corporate Security Manager

Location: Addis Ababa

Reports to: Regional Corporate Security Director

 

Position Purpose

Lead and support the implementation of corporate security strategies across assigned markets. Ensure risk-based, cost-effective security measures that protect people, assets, and operations while enabling business objectives.

The incumbent serves as the primary security leader for the assigned markets, acting as the representative of the Regional Corporate Security Director and delivering security services as directed. This role supports them in implementing the Corporate Security Strategy and providing security oversight to all JTI business entities, operations, and projects within the designated Area of Responsibility.

The area of responsibilities encompasses all aspects of the security program, including its development, review, and maintenance, using a risk-based and cost-effective approach that adds tangible value to the business. The position also requires active, hands-on involvement in tactical security operations when necessary.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Risk & Crisis Management Identify, develop, and implement security processes to reduce risk and protect business operations. Maintain a Regional Security Risk Register and support crisis management activities, including incident response and training. Monitor global and regional security trends and recommend strategies to minimize vulnerabilities. People & Asset Security Ensure the safety of employees, executives, and visitors at workplaces and during business travel. Provide security support for high-risk environments, special events, and projects, including travel briefings and residential security surveys. Manage security audits, supply chain security programs, and investigations in coordination with relevant functions. Networking & Stakeholder Engagement Build strong internal relationships across markets and functions to promote security initiatives. Develop external networks with law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and private sector security organizations to enhance collaboration and information sharing. Financial & Vendor Management Prepare and manage annual security budgets for assigned markets, monitor variances, and report regularly. Oversee contracts with security service providers, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality services. Talent Development & Leadership Lead and develop regional security teams, ensuring continuous growth and succession planning. Support the Corporate Security Talent Development Program and foster a culture of learning and improvement.

 

Qualifications

University degree or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years in military, law enforcement, intelligence, or corporate security. Strong English communication skills: regional languages are an advantage. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
