Corporate Security and Safety Manager
**A Day in the Life:** The Mgr Corporate Security is responsible for protecting company assets by performing vehicle related investigations, coordinating with law enforcement, conducting security assessments, and assisting with internal investigations. This role requires travel, video analysis, report writing, and collaboration with internal departments and external agencies to mitigate security risks including vehicle theft and ensuring customer and employee safety. Due to the nature of the work, availability outside of standard business hours, including nights and weekends, is required. The target starting rate is $85K, actual salary will be determined base on experience. Schedule: Wednesday-Sunday **What You’ll Do:** Safe and Secure Culture · Delivers training sessions to raise awareness about fraud detection and appropriate response strategies. · Encourages networking with law enforcement agencies and civilian partners (e.g., NICB, corporate security counterparts) to support ongoing professional development and equip the team with essential tools for success. · Conducts unannounced site visits to assess security and safety measures. · Assist with Safety inspections or verify information on inspections on documented inspections as requested by the Safety Team. Investigations • In coordination with HR, conduct investigations related to employee safety threats, vendor-related and vehicle lot theft, and fraudulent vehicle towing and impound operations. • Assist with Safety Investigations to include responding to scenes, collecting evidence, taking photos, interviewing subjects, and perform root cause analysis and document in Vector EHS. · Collaborate with the HR and Ethics & Compliance Teams for investigations as required. · Assist with Safety inspections or verify information on inspections on documented inspections as requested by the Safety Team. Law Enforcement Coordination • Serve as a liaison between Hertz and law enforcement, handling subpoenas, inquiries, requests, and BOLOs. • Track vehicles held by police for evidence-related investigations. • Gather information from police regarding police vehicle inquires. • Manage police reporting of found firearms, drugs, and cash incidents. • Represent Hertz in court and provide testimony on criminal activities upon request by the Legal Department. (vehicle/rental related). • Coordinate with law enforcement on urgent situations. • 24/7 Hotline monitoring. Vehicle Theft reporting • Review vehicle theft reports and submit to law enforcement. • Travel to law enforcement jurisdictions as needed (may require flights). • Document findings in the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system. • Alert appropriate parties when a Hertz employee is found to be involved in theft/misconduct Security: • Address and respond to customer threats to employees, gathering intelligence and advising on next steps. • Assist the Physical Security Team with security assessments by identify vulnerabilities (customers, employees, vehicles, facilities) and recommend improvements. • Review, analyze, and preserve security footage for relevant evidence. (Safety, Claims, Theft, etc.) • Locate unauthorized tracking devices (AirTags, etc.) in company vehicles. • Manage security for major events, ensuring threat mitigation and employee safety. • Assist Physical Security Team with security with installation of security equipment. Report Writing • Summarize and report investigation findings to leadership. • Maintain sensitive reports and incident documentation in the Ontic intelligence system. • Create geofences in Ontic to monitor social media for potential security threats. • Track all vehicle impound, repossession and theft related activity in EAM & Super Dispatch • Issue and distribute Be On the Look Out (BOLO) alerts to field locations. • Complete and close Breach of Security reports • Provide monthly activity reports to management. Special Vehicle Recoveries: • Support recovery of stolen company assets. • Assist in the repatriation of company vehicles located in other countries. • Coordinate with NICB on vehicle recovery in Mexico **What We’re Looking For:** · At least 20 years law enforcement experience a must with a concentration in criminal investigations · Strong consideration for candidates who possess OSHA 10 certificates.
