Join our dynamic team as a Corporate Legal & Compliance Counsel and play a pivotal role in ensuring the governance and compliance of our organization. As part of a leading player in the energy sector, you will be instrumental in shaping our ethics and compliance program while working in the vibrant city of Brussels, Belgium.
Role Overview Governance Expertise: Support the General Secretariat in ensuring compliance with corporate governance principles and managing corporate housekeeping. Legal Advice & Monitoring of Legislation: Proactively monitor relevant legislation and advise management on corporate matters. Involvement in Projects: Participate in interdisciplinary projects, addressing legal aspects and managing associated risks. Drafting and Review of Documents: Draft legal, statutory, and regulatory documentation including contracts and policy documents. Compliance: Develop and implement ethics and compliance programs, monitor data-related legislation, and promote an ethical culture. Networking: Build valuable relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Skills & Qualifications Fluent in English and French or Dutch. In-depth knowledge of company law and compliance, particularly in data-related and sustainability legislation. Strong communication skills with the ability to persuade and collaborate across departments. Education & Experience Master's degree in law. At least 10 years of experience in corporate housekeeping or ethics and compliance. Data protection officer (DPO) certification is an advantage.
