Key job responsibilities
You'll be at the forefront of defining legal frameworks for innovative AI technologies, working collaboratively to create compliance strategies that balance innovation with responsible development. Your work will be critical in guiding Amazon's AI initiatives through emerging regulatory challenges.
- Develop comprehensive compliance strategies for Amazon's frontier AI products
- Advise business leaders on novel regulatory challenges in AI development
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create compliance mechanisms
- Design proactive legal frameworks for emerging AI technologies
- Partner with global stakeholders to ensure regulatory alignment and responsible innovation
A day in the life
Your day will be dynamic and intellectually stimulating, involving strategic discussions with AI researchers, product managers, global legal teams, and regulators. You'll dive deep into complex regulatory landscapes, craft innovative compliance approaches, and translate technical complexities into clear legal guidance.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience in Regulatory Law
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) Standards Law
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
- Experience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
- Experience developing compliance approaches in areas without established precedent
- Expertise in developing compliance approaches for emerging technological domains
- Understanding of global regulatory environments
- Experience with technology and innovation law
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex legal landscapes

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
