Founded in 1971, Dialysis Clinic, Inc. (DCI) remains the nation’s largest non-profit dialysis provider. With a team of approximately 5,000 talented and caring employees serving across the United States, DCI provides care to nearly 15,000 patients on dialysis and 3,500 patients with chronic kidney disease. We offer a variety of services including in-center hemodialysis, home hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis (PD). Each position within DCI, from billers to administrators to nursing staff, contributes toward the goal of providing excellent patient care. Our staff has helped DCI achieve the lowest mortality and hospitalization rates among large dialysis providers for the past 13 years in a row.

 

The Corporate Counsel will provide guidance to the company’s executives, as well as operations, regulatory and clinical personnel throughout the country.

Primary Responsibilities:

Advise DCIDS leadership and the DCIDS Board of Directors, and report to them as needed in legal-related mattersAdvise and provide oversight on compliance-related matters at the federal, state and accreditation/certification organization levels to ensure DCIDS remains aligned with various requirements and expectationsHandle contracts and other legal documentsResearch and guidance on complex regulatory issuesHandle transactional projectsInteract with a wide range of legal and business persons

Compliance with DCIDS/DCI programs:  Corporate Counsel will be accountable for adhering to the DCIDS and DCI Standards of Conduct.  All employees are required to promptly report all known or suspected compliance-related violation or concerns.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

Licensed attorney holding a J.D. or equivalent degree from a recognized law schoolTennessee licensure highly preferred, but other exceptional candidates holding out-of-state license considered upon condition of obtaining Tennessee licensure3+ years of transactional legal experience, preferably in healthcare lawExperience in health care law as well as general corporate and business law is highly preferredExperience in compliance programs and expectations thereof in a healthcare environment is adventageousMicrosoft office proficient
