Corporate Automation Engineer

One of Insight Global's water & wastewater utility clients is hiring for a Corporate Automation (SCADA) Engineer. This role is based in Bryn Mawr, PA with 25% travel requirements.
The Corporate Automation (SCADA) Engineer leads the development, management, and execution of standardized SCADA solutions across multiple state operating units, ensuring operational, secure, and data-centric environments. This role is responsible for capital planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of SCADA systems for water and wastewater operations, as well as developing corporate standards and compliance processes. The engineer partners closely with Information Technology and Information Security teams to enforce SCADA guidelines, conduct OT cybersecurity assessments, and implement remediation plans. Managing stakeholder and executive expectations, the role also ensures alignment with internal governance and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the engineer facilitates data extraction and analytics from SCADA systems, supporting business intelligence and continuous improvement across the organization.
Core Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain industrial control (SCADA) systems for water and wastewater operations, collaborating with corporate, state, and external partners on projects of varying scale.
- Provide technical leadership in SCADA architecture, control system design, cybersecurity, and operational reliability, while facilitating compliance with engineering, IT, and OT standards and guidelines.
- Lead and participate in all phases of IT/OT project lifecycles, including capital planning, system architecture, and process control initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and support IT/OT program governance, working with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and advisory groups to drive automation strategy and project execution.
- Oversee and support cybersecurity efforts, including network access control, vulnerability assessments, remediation planning, and day-to-day IT/OT security operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for operational needs, stakeholder engagement, and technical support across all states, ensuring effective communication, documentation, and continuous improvement of SCADA systems.
