Copy of Staff Engineer, Endpoint Agent

The Role:

Halcyon is redefining what security software can do, with a focus on anti-ransomware innovation. We're seeking a Staff Engineer to help lead the design and development of our cross-platform endpoint agent. This role is instrumental in shaping both the technical architecture and future direction of our Windows, Linux, and macOS protection capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Own the technical vision and architecture of Halcyon’s cross-platform endpoint agent, covering user-space services, kernel drivers, and tooling

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including researchers, product managers, and engineers to design and implement cutting-edge anti-ransomware features

Lead complex, cross-platform engineering efforts, balancing performance, scalability, and security

Mentor and support the growth of engineers across the endpoint team

Troubleshoot and resolve complex, high-impact technical issues during feature development

Define, implement, and improve engineering processes and standards across the team

Champion technical excellence and product quality, advocating for best practices in all aspects of development

Skills and Qualifications:

Experience developing high-quality code in Rust (preferred) or C++

Proven track record developing endpoint security products

Experience in a staff-level or principal engineering role, with a focus on architecture and cross-team collaboration

Expert-level knowledge in low-level systems, including kernel or driver development on Windows, Linux, or macOS

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders

Base Salary Range: $220,000- $275,000

Bonus Target: 10%
