About the Role
We’re looking for a thoughtful and driven Copy Manager to help shape how customers experience our brand through language. In this role, you’ll lead a team of writers and collaborate across the organization to create consistent, engaging, and on-brand copy for a variety of marketing channels—from promotional campaigns to product descriptions and beyond. You’ll play a key part in maintaining our brand voice while balancing creativity, clarity, and performance. Key Responsibilities
Brand Voice & Content Development
Develop and maintain a cohesive brand voice that reflects Raymour & Flanigan’s identity and connects with our customers. Write clear, compelling copy for a range of channels including promotional campaigns, website content, product descriptions, emails, SEO content, and internal communications. Ensure all messaging reflects our tone and positioning, while supporting business goals and marketing strategy.Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment
Partner with creative, merchandising, marketing, and store teams to ensure messaging aligns with business priorities and customer needs. Stay connected to the field and leverage associate and customer insights to shape messaging that resonates across all channels. Manage external resources including freelance writers and agency partners, as needed.Leadership & Process Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of copywriters—providing regular feedback, coaching, and support. Maintain high standards for quality, accuracy, and consistency through strong editing and proofreading practices. Track and manage project timelines and budgets. Contribute to annual planning as needed.Innovation & Optimization
Embrace AI tools to increase productivity and creative development while maintaining human oversight and brand integrity. Stay current on industry trends, customer behavior, and new marketing technologies to help evolve our content strategy. Support a test-and-learn approach to creative development and continuously look for ways to improve our processes and outputs.Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field (advanced degree a plus) 7+ years of copywriting and content creation experience, ideally in retail or a related industry Demonstrated success in managing and mentoring a team of writers A strong portfolio showcasing versatility in tone, format, and channel Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines Strong project management, organizational, and collaboration skills Experience with using AI tools in content development
