Summary:
The Idaho Commission of Pardons & Parole (COPP) is currently recruiting for the position of Program Specialist in Boise, Idaho. The Program Specialist will have a diverse workload that is focused on helping to implement various agency strategic initiatives; identifying trainings, best-practices in parole decision making, and technology opportunities; maintaining agency training documentation and schedules; and collaborating with multiple sources to help lead the agency’s transition to the Structured Decision-Making Framework.
Responsibilities:
+ Participate in project planning, development, training and implementation of projects.
+ Provide a supporting role for the agency’s transition to the Structured Decision-Making Framework.
+ Lead large scale projects to assess and identify changes necessary to the Commission’s structure and hearing processes.
+ Study and analyze operations and problems and prepare detailed and comprehensive reports of findings and recommendations.
+ Assessment of agency technological needs coupled with integration of new technology.
+ Evaluation of best practices.
+ Assist with the agency’s website overhaul and maintenance.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Some knowledge of management practices. This is typically gained by at least one year of work experience that included all the essential elements of management (planning, organizing, leading, and controlling); OR completion of two upper division college-level courses; OR 60 hours of management training that included all the essential elements of management AND six months of work experience performing all the elements of management.
+ Experience developing procedures and/or monitoring a budget. Typically gained by at least one year of experience developing procedures and/or monitoring a budget that included allocating expenditures, reconciling accounts, and making fund transfers, or supervising these functions.
+ Experience supervising staff. Typically gained by at least one year of experience being responsible for interviewing and selecting staff, providing work direction and training, evaluating performance, and generating employer problem solving solutions.
+ Experience providing liaison with customer/provider groups. Typically gained by at least one year of experience working with one or more community groups of adults or providing liaison with customers and/or provider groups in a leadership role to share information, coordinate efforts, and/or achieve shared goals.
+ Experience interpreting federal or state regulations. Typically gained by a year or more of experience interpreting and applying rules, policies, and procedures related to program operations to ensure compliance with state and federal laws; OR through explaining to others how laws, regulations, or policies apply to specific situations.
Desirable Qualifications:
+ Experience and proficiency using Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
+ Experience and proficiency using Atlas.
+ Knowledge of the criminal justice system in Idaho.
