Reporting to the Superintendent - Warehouse, the Coordinator- Warehouse will be responsible for proactively coordinating all materials management activity for LMC. As a member of the supply chain team, you will satisfy all the needs and wants of customer departments within the business and collectively meet and exceed the needs of the business.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Enforce safe working practices and compliance with mine/site safety rules
Supervise daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, issuing and dispatch
Ensure materials are stored correctly according to specifications and safety requirements
Maintain efficient warehouse layout to optimize space and workflow
Oversee accurate stock records and inventory movements
Investigate and resolve stock variances, losses or damages
Ensure all warehouse documentation is accurate, complete and audit ready
Enforce authorization controls for material issuing and receiving
Supervise warehouse personnel and contractors
Train staff on system, procedures and safety requirements
Ensure correct use of ERP
Maintain accurate bin location and master data
Ensure proper security controls within the warehouse
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Support lean warehousing and 5S initiative
Ensure manifest reconciliation is done and signed
Provide leadership necessary to ensure work groups contribute and adhere to Safety standards and policy of LMC.
Assist in ensuring an up-to-date record of Supply safety registers, including MSDS, SWPs and JSAs for work groups.
Provide necessary leadership to ensure work group adhere to LMC Health, safety and environmental standards
Ensure that all warehouse related activities are carried out and managed in accordance with relevant environmental, legal and social responsibilities.
Minimizing losses from theft, damage, expiry or obsolescence
Support inventory optimization and working capital control
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
Full Grade 12 School Certificate
Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing and Supply or CIPs Equivalent.
At least Five (5) years’ experience in the Mining Sector or other busy 24-hour Operation Industries.
Good interpersonal skills together with effective communication skills.
Demonstrated skills in planning, analysis and problem solving.
Member of Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
