Coordinator of Cultural Affairs and Student Activities HV-NTP-9880 In order to be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support Visas. Applicants must currently hold an unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in an arts-related discipline; OR associate’s degree in an arts-related discipline and two (2) years’ experiences in coordination of cultural activities. Contacts in the performing arts industry; excellent oral and written communication skills. Nature and Scope of Duties: The Coordinator of Cultural Affairs and Student Activities reports to the Director of Student Life and performs the following duties: Coordinates an annual program of cultural activities and fine arts events; includes meeting with artists or college personnel, discussing proposals, attending production meetings, and researching artists and arts organizations. Act as a liaison between artists and the college. Initiate collaboration with academic departments by identifying programs that complement curricula and enhance the student educational experience. Coordinate the college’s Cultural Affairs Committee and assist other committees and departments that engage speakers and other cultural events. This includes the Voices library lecture series, the Teaching Gallery and Student Senate. Maintain mailing list and assist in coordinating publicity for events. Perform program assessment via satisfaction surveys and other qualitative and quantitative methods. Administrative duties as required, including but not limited to, annual reports, analysis of assessment data, and periodic reviews confirming alignment with the college’s strategic planning initiatives. Arrange for, process and document all necessary forms, contracts, requisitions, insurance, payment for artists, working with the Executive Director of the Faculty Student Association of Hudson Valley Community College. Monitor and manage annual budget. Investigate and pursue events and activities that will enhance multicultural awareness among college students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community. Appoint artists-in-residence and collaborate on special projects. Assist in ordering, maintaining and repairing of equipment in theatre and surrounding areas. Position may require a flexible schedule at times to allow for presence at evening and weekend events. Assist in coordinating on-campus and off campus events for the Office of Student Activities. Assist club advisors, students, and staff in coordinating activities, fundraisers, events, banquets, award dinners, conferences, etc. May represent the Student Activities Department at events, meetings, and conferences. Performs related duties as assigned. This is a 12-month, Full-Time position with a salary range of $45,000-48,000.00.
