Central Washington University is recruiting a Coordinator of Athletic Operations and Sports Equipment (Sports Equipment Manager 2) to join our Athletics Administration team in Ellensburg, Washington. This role is an important member of our team as they enhance the vision for the University. The role is a campus-based position, which means you get to see the lives you are impacting. The Role:
This position manages the operation and maintenance of the athletic equipment and apparel, athletic game operations, and athletic facilities. The Manager responsibilities include overseeing and coordinating the operations of the athletics equipment room, NCAA intercollegiate athletic events, and athletic shared and controlled spaces. This position maintains athletic department equipment inventory, coordinates shared space usage, and coordinates receivables and returns for the department.
Athletic Support Employees directly affect the vision, mission, and values of Central Washington University by creating and promoting a welcoming environment where students, faculty, and staff feel supported. Job Duties- Supervise total daily operations of the equipment and apparel for the entire athletic department. Implement comprehensive system for inventory of equipment and apparel to include checkout and check-in procedures, daily logs, identification and control of all athletic equipment. Complete safety inspection checks on all equipment. Conduct minor repairs when needed.
- Determine annual activity and laundry room needs, assist coaches, staff reviewing sport specific equipment and apparel needs; assist in gathering information to support budget requests.
- Recommend requests for new replacement equipment, based on Athletics program needs. Identify shortages and needs and submit request for new or replacement of athletic equipment and/or facility needs. Complete annual inventories of all athletics equipment and apparel.
- Receive, store, move and issue equipment, apparel and furnishings. Maintain all necessary records and information regarding invoices and packing slips of new equipment and apparel purchases. Maintain security of equipment and supplies, complete reports. Perform preventative maintenance on all athletic equipment.
- Serve as liaison with other departments on campus for work done in the athletic controlled areas. Recommend work orders for all building maintenance in the NPAV building. Recommend requests for services to correct operational deficiencies, delivery, and removal of equipment and furnishing, lock changes, etc. for NPAV building.
- Resolve logistic problems and building use conflicts and ensure requested goods and services are available when needed.
- Advise potential users of NPAV building regarding the safe and effective use of building facilities and equipment.
- Review building and room space requests to assure optimum use of space and avoid potential conflicts. Coordinate requests for building use relating to room and gym areas, outdoor activity areas for classes, conference, summer camps and special programs. Review and approve space reservation requests and conformity with building use policies; supervise use, condition to assure the comfort and safety of occupants.
- Serve as the athletics liaison for visiting teams and officials that are participating NCAA contests.
- Responsible for security and lock-up of building during normal work hours and during supervision of extra curricula activities.
- Assigns and checks work and provides training. May provide feedback to supervisor to assist with work assignments and job performance. Recommend hire, train, review and schedule the work of students providing support for various activities and programs offered through Athletics.
- Provide and set up athletic equipment in the athletic facilities, making sure that the set-up is correct by NCAA athletic event rules.
- Oversee the operation of the athletics equipment rooms, locker rooms, laundry room, weight room, field house, upper/lower gyms, and outside field areas.
- Monitor the building and outside field area during normal working hours and during conferences and camps. Respond to new requests and services.
Supervisor Duties:

Minimum Qualifications Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable with a diverse population. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Effectively present information and respond to questions from the public, faculty, staff, instructors and/or other departments on campus regarding Nicholson Pavilion. Demonstrated ability and/or experience fostering a supportive and effective workplace while working with students and/or colleagues to uphold institutional excellence. OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree Experience working at an NCAA athletic department in higher education. Experience working in the areas of game operations and athletic equipment management. Experience and/or training that demonstrates the ability to use Microsoft Suite programming and/or similar software applications to produce written correspondence and receive and respond to email inquiries, tasks, etc. A record of promoting institutional excellence in the work environment. Ability to incorporate a variety of perspectives and relevant societal issues into everyday conversations.Competencies

Pay, Benefits, & Work ScheduleSalary: This position is based on the range 38 of the Washington State Classification Listing, which has a minimum annual salary of $41,004 and maximum annual salary of $54,504. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
Schedule/Appointment: Flexible / 40 hours a week
Working Conditions: This position mainly works indoors but will occasionally be required to work at outdoors at athletic events. This position has a flexible schedule with some evening and weekend work. Occasional overtime is required.
