Your key focus will be to ensure the safe, timely and cost-efficient delivery of all services related to Long Term Mine Planning.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Develop annual Budget and LOM plans that optimise company targets and support cost and financial modelling Regularly adjust the long-term plans and targets based on achieved mining and new data Develop and optimize the LOM fleet using the relevant software (Deswik LHS) Assist in preparing mineral reserves reports (NI-14-101) Assist with scoping and pre-feasibility study work for potential mineral projects. Prepare mineral reserve estimates that comply with international standards. Assist in running optimisations and option scenarios as required for new and existing ore bodies Prepare cost effective and production efficient pit and dump designs for Medium Term and Short-Term planning Prepare supporting designs such as RoM pads and haul road layouts. Determine cut-off grades Monitor actual and design pits to ensure achievement of design criteria. Propose and review changes (geotechnical, technological, and the like) that improve the long-term output of the operation Ensure that the mine planning group are providing the required level of service to mine operations and projects Ensure that environmental policies and strategies are incorporated into mining plans, Ensure training plans for employees are in place and regularly monitored and reappraised Ensure compliance to all statutory regulations and proceduresTo be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
Full Grade Twelve (12) Certificate. Minimum of Bachelor of Mining Engineering. Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in the mining industry. Must have experience in planning large open pit mines, Mine Planning, Design and Production Engineering. Ability to mentor and upgrade the skills of Short-Term Planning (STP), Medium Term Planning (MTP) Engineers and the rest of the team. Must be proficient in Deswik scheduling software, Evolution and Vulcan planning software. Must display initiative and teamwork skills. Must have avalid driver’s license. Experience in using mine optimization software including but not limited to Whittle 4x. Must be proficient in Microsoft office suite package. Competence in technical report writing will be an added advantage. Must be a member of Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)What We Can Offer You
