General Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field. Minimum of 4 years of experience in K–12 education, preferably in teaching, mentoring, or administrative roles. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Performs highly complex administrative and supervisory program work for the College of Education at Sam Houston State University ensuring high-quality support for pre-service teacher candidates placed within the district, as well as first-year teachers entering the profession through our programs.
This is a part-time, hourly, grant-funded, temporary, non-benefits eligible position, working 19 hours or less per week expected to end on or before 05/31/2026. Specific hours and workdays to be determined. Continuation of the position is contingent upon continued funding.
Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):
Serves as a central point of contact between the College of Education and Huntsville ISD . Assists the Director of Innovative Partnerships in the coordination and scheduling of mentoring activities and community-based events within the district. Provides connection and opportunities for SHSU teacher candidates and novice teachers to engage within the community. Attends relevant district and college meetings to ensure alignment of expectations and initiatives. Supports the development and implementation of joint professional learning opportunities. Provides regular updates and reports to College of Education leadership. Works closely with the COE Director of Innovative Partnerships, teacher candidates, novice teachers, and district personnel to support a growing partnership for community engagement between the SHSU College of Education and Huntsville ISD . Performs other related duties as assigned.
