Two years of experience with technology inventory management, purchasing and logistics workflow, and/or fixed asset audit procedures or experience in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Must be a current Sam Houston State University employee in order to be considered for this position. Nature & Purpose of Position Performs moderately complex administrative and supervisory program work dealing with campus technology inventory. Primary Responsibilities Plans and implements the annual technology inventory audit: Physically verifies device locations, user assignments, use-cases, and configurations. Responsible for inventory of both state and department tracked assets belonging to Information Technology and the rest of campus.
Responsible for compliance with state Prohibited Technology mandates governing inventory and accountability. Performs internal audit investigations and monitoring: Reports on asset information accuracy and makes recommendations for procedural changes to improve database reliability. Reviews device deployments for required inventory data updates. Collaborates with interdepartmental team on annual Computer Replacement Program: Conducts dynamic change management procedures on targeted devices and employees. Provides departmental summary documentation for CRP team to validate with clients. Functions as team resource for all matters relating to inventory validation and correction. Liaisons with Property Office and Custom Development in maintaining Banner-CMDB integration. Coordinates with technicians to assign assets for client requests and other needs. Assists with policy and procedure development, including oversight of enterprise CMDB. Performs other duties as assigned. Other Specifications Project planning and management experience preferred. Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving ability required. Must be able to keep extremely accurate records and maintain audit trails for work performed. Must be familiar with office functions and software as well as basic administrative procedures and best practices. Must be able to interpret and apply policy to solve routine problems of a repetitive nature. Must have an understanding of information security principles and some knowledge of network and computer hardware systems.

This position involves frequent communication with other university employees and external vendor contacts. Prospective employees must have excellent intrapersonal skills and the ability to present technical concepts in a user-friendly language. Must have highly effective leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to establish congenial work relationships with various groups and individuals. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis throughout a normal workday and perform team lifts of up to 200 pounds as needed. Required to work occasionally in inclement weather. Special and/or emergency procedures sometimes require extended hours. Some travel may be required.
