Position Overview:
The Coordinator – Clinical Transplant is responsible for coordinating the multidisciplinary approach involved in the evaluation, treatment, and facilitation of the transplant process. This role supports the follow-up care of organ recipients and donors, ensuring seamless collaboration among healthcare team members. The Coordinator acts as a key partner to nursing leadership, primary nurses, and other members of the care team—serving as a collegial, consultative resource to promote best practices and optimal patient outcomes.This role requires clinical competency, leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects independently, all while maintaining a focus on patient-centered care. On call responsibility after completion of orientation. Laptop and cell phone provided. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate multidisciplinary efforts involved in transplant evaluations, treatment planning, and post-transplant follow-up.Facilitate communication among providers, nursing staff, and support services to ensure comprehensive, timely care.Track and manage multiple concurrent tasks and projects related to transplant patient care.Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure compliance with policies, protocols, and regulatory standards.Document and communicate patient progress and care plans effectively.Provide leadership and support in clinical operations related to transplant activities.Qualifications: Evidence of clinical competency and leadership skills.Clinical practice experience related to transplant or a similar specialty preferred.Strong organizational, writing, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.Critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently.Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.Note: ASN RNs hired after January 1, 2013, must complete their BSN within five years of hire.Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA); other advanced certifications may be required per department.Why Join IU Health:
