Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Marketing is a dynamic, results-driven marketing team responsible for positioning films and streaming content released by Disney (live action), Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, and 20th Century Studios. This organization oversees the Studios’ global marketing strategy encompassing creative, media, digital, international, promotions, publicity, research, special events, and synergy, and handles some the most valuable film brands and franchises of all time. Thanks in large part to the efforts of the marketing team, the Walt Disney Studios has set numerous records at the box office, including being the first and only studio to surpass $3 billion domestically and $7 billion globally in a calendar year, milestones it has achieved twice.
Responsibilities
Content management and delivery of assets (supporting two NY directors)
Photo management and request forms for press requests
Supporting junket / convention logistics, including:
Navigating internal systems for scheduling (for events, junkets, and press days)
Press Travel
Confirmations
Handling meeting coordination details including logistics, preparation, invitations and other materials.
Leading the logistics for screenings / premieres, including:
RSVP management
Confirmations
Handling meeting coordination details including logistics, preparation, invitations and other materials.
Oversee event transportation and logistics and book cars for events.
Update master reports, including navigating internal systems (i.e. Riley), creating cheat sheets, and identifying further opportunities for scale and standardization.
Manage the circulation of cheat sheets weekly.
Supporting Blasts (including pulling materials, gathering approvals, and distribution).
Pulling and circulating social coverage around events, screenings and premieres.
Preview Chart Distribution
Arrange meetings or conferences by booking conference rooms, issuing meeting requests through Outlook, sending emails and coordinating materials.
Responsible for meeting agendas, notes, and recap memos (prepare, circulate, and archive).
Weekly Slate Update to press and targeted teams.
Screen and flag important incoming emails to appropriate team members.
Partner and work extensively with internal departments to provide and/or receive necessary information, materials, approvals, updates, etc.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
1+ year of cumulative relevant work experience
Demonstrated interest in press and publicity, ideally with relevant education and/or internship experience.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to maintain an efficient office, files, database, and information
Ability to manage multiple high priority projects and appropriately prioritize work and meet deadlines, make decisions and change course of action quickly
Ability to be proactive and resourceful, make independent decisions when handling sensitive and confidential information, while exercising good judgment and discretion.
Anticipate needs of team and manage office time efficiently.
Detail oriented with the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure
Proficient in Outlook, Keynote, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
Experience working within the entertainment industry highly desirable
The hiring range for this position in California is $53,300 - $71,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
