COORDINATOR WOUND CAREFULL TIME DAYS
Requirements :Bachelors `Degree.
4 years of recent nursing experience in medical surgical areas with extensive experience with wound continence and ostomy care.
Good priority setting ability. Basic computer skills. Effective interpersonal communication skills. Effective bedside teaching skills.
Current RN license in Illinois
Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse (WOCN) Certification eligibility.
CPR Certification.
Flexible hours according to customer needs. Ability to prioritize independently and respond to multiple simultaneous request. Ability to work in a fast~paced environment with established time constraints and in difficult situations .May be exposed to hazardous materials and life~threatening diseases. Ability to perform lifting/transfer activities related to patients (up to 50 lbs. may be required).Ability to transport objects from one location to another. This position needs to recognize needs and behaviors of specific age groups of patients treated. If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds or when patient is unable to assist with the lift patient handling equipment is expected to be used with at least one other associate when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis .Purpose:To assess plan coordinate and manage the care of patients with complex wound care and ostomy needs in collaboration with the inpatient care team. To assist in ensuring that quality patient care is provided utilizing appropriate resources standards of care and evidence based practices. To foster an understanding of wound and ostomy management by health care clinicians. To consult with staff internal and external to the organization for the purpose of clinical management education technological development
