As a Cook III at our esteemed resort, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the high culinary standards that define our dining experience. In this position, you will bring your culinary expertise to the forefront, specializing in advanced cooking techniques and overseeing the preparation of diverse and sophisticated dishes. Collaborating with the culinary team, you will contribute to menu development, ensuring a harmonious blend of creativity and adherence to our resort's culinary identity. Cook IIIs are pivotal in maintaining kitchen efficiency, managing inventory, and upholding rigorous health and safety standards. Your role extends to mentoring and guiding junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative environment. **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:**
+ Demonstrate proficiency in advanced cooking techniques, culinary methods, and a deep understanding of diverse cuisines.
+ Contribute actively to menu planning, introducing innovative and sophisticated dishes while maintaining alignment with the resort's culinary vision.
+ Provide leadership within the kitchen, guiding and mentoring junior cooks. Share knowledge, techniques, and best practices to enhance the skills of the culinary team.
+ Ensure the highest standards of taste, presentation, and quality in all dishes. Oversee food preparation to maintain consistency and excellence.
+ Play a key role in the efficient operation of the kitchen, including overseeing workstations, managing inventory, and coordinating with other kitchen staff.
+ Exhibit quick and effective problem-solving skills to address challenges that may arise in a high-volume and fast-paced kitchen environment.
**Qualifications:**
**EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent is usually required.
+ Formal culinary education from a reputable culinary school or vocational training institute is often preferred.
+ Previous experience as a Cook II or in a similar supervisory role is often required.
+ Proven expertise in menu development, showcasing creativity and a deep understanding of diverse cuisines.
+ Familiarity with standard kitchen equipment, cooking techniques, and safety practices.
+ Previous Hotel or Resort experience desired.
**JOB REQUIRMENTS:**
+ Must be authorized to work in the United States
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
+ Strong attention to detail.
+ You must have physical stamina.
+ Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more.

Resorts, especially those with multiple dining venues, may experience high volumes of orders during peak seasons or special events. This requires cooks to work efficiently and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment. Cooks are responsible for preparing dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards. Attention to detail, precision in measurements, and creativity in enhancing flavors contribute to the overall dining experience. Adherence to strict safety and hygiene standards is paramount in a kitchen. Resort cooks must follow proper food handling procedures, maintain cleanliness, and ensure that the kitchen complies with health and safety regulations. The role of a resort cook involves standing for extended periods, frequent bending, lifting heavy pots and pans, and moving quickly between workstations. Physical stamina is essential to meet the demands of the kitchen. **:** Kitchens can be hot due to cooking equipment and ovens.
