Why Join Us? + Full Benefits Package – Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, HRA, FSA, PTO + Employee referral program + Friendly, supportive staff environment with opportunities for growth + A meaningful role where you help improve residents’ quality of life Responsibilities Responsibilities: As a Cook at Elderwood, you will: + Review menus and production sheets to determine food quantities needed for regular, mechanically altered, and special diets. + Prepare and cook assigned food items according to recipes and guidelines. + Test cooked foods by tasting and smelling samples to ensure quality. + Maintain safety and sanitation standards throughout food preparation and production. + Supervise food being cooked and ensure proper holding/serving temperatures. + Assist with preparation and distribution of foodstuffs. + Maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep of kitchen equipment and work areas. Qualifications Qualifications: + Minimum 18 years of age required; High School diploma or equivalent preferred + Previous food preparation experience required + Ability to understand and organize food preparation activities + Ability to carry out cooking tasks safely and efficiently + Knowledge of food preparation and production processes + Pride in quality of food and service + Strong personal cleanliness and hygiene standards + Respect for residents’ privacy, dignity, and rights This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors.
