Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Collaborates in the maintaining a improving the controls systems of automated equipment in manufacturing providing expertise and guiding to AA and BB bands
Key Responsibilities Provide electrical and controls engineering and equipment technical expertise in fiber optic cable manufacturing in support of production, maintenance, continuous improvement, cost reduction, and productivity improvements. Collaborate closely with engineering, maintenance and research teams to troubleshoot, repair and improve manufacturing equipment and its respective control systems Serve as a resource for in-depth troubleshooting of production equipment & processes Provide technical support when maintenance requirements exceed electrical associate capabilities. Actively participate in all phases of projects including design, fabrication, off-line integration and testing, installation, production start-up support, training of plant personnel and technology transfer.
Individual must be capable of executing project assignments, in a team-based environment, with minimal supervision Support problem-solving in manufacturing, including root cause identification and propose resolution. Provide on-call & weekend support as needed Equipment performance monitoring as directed. Propose and implement iKaizens and Safety Kaizens. Validates alternative components behavior. Performs electrical and electromechanical troubleshooting Work on problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of several factors. Experiences/Education - Required Technical degree in controls or electrical engineering or related field, or various curriculum trainings Required Years and Area of Experience:
4+ years of experience in a control's technician role or other similar function Experiences/Education - Desired Experience with PLCs, HMIs, drives, and safety systems and structured programming Knowledge of controls systems design, programming, and systems integration Experience working in a manufacturing environment Strong written & oral communications skills
