Job Description

As a Controls Technician in the field, you will engage with many of Rockwell Automation's customers across a variety of industries. Your mission is to support our customers in assessing their control system assets and working hands-on to ensure that systems are maintained and functioning properly.

You will be focused on on-site technical services that may include commissioning, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of Control Systems (PLC/Motion/Drives) in several applications. You will provide on-site field support to engineering installation and may be an embedded resource for customer or distributor.

Field Technicians help maintain our reputation for excellent customer service and will collaborate with sales team members to ensure any commercial challenges are resolved quickly. You will report to the Territory Services Manager and work onsite at customers in the Colorado area.

Your Responsibilities:You will provide on-site support and troubleshooting of product-level issues on Rockwell Automation technologies (PLCs, HMI, VFDs and other motor control components)You will perform preventative maintenance activities on automation assetsYou will support customers to maintain control system health (ex: firmware updates, OS patching and program backups)You will assess and document customer automation installed base and network infrastructureYou will support customers, contractors, and RA project teams with installation, check-out, testing, and startup of RA products and systems (ex: I/O terminations and check-out, network cable setup, hardware configuration)You will support Engineers with small project execution involving PLC and HMI migrations/conversionsYou may participate in remote technical support activities for customers when not engaged in on-site activitiesYou may serve as a long-term embedded resource at customers requiring on-site support

The Essentials - You Will Have:High School Diploma or GEDAbility to travel 50% often on short notice, and occasionally requiring availability during off-hours, weekends, and holidaysLegal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.A valid drivers license.The Preferred - You Might Also Have:Typically requires a minimum of 6+ years of experienceKnowledge of Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley control system platforms, including PowerFlex Drives, Logix Controllers, Kinetix Servo Drives and motorsUnderstanding of AC / DC power circuits, pushbuttons, circuit breakers, power supplies, overloads, contactors, relays, motors, VFD's and PLCs·Customer relationship development and management skillsDemonstrated experience working as part of a project team and partnering across cultural boundaries

For this role, the Base Salary Compensation is from $82,000 - $123,000 with an annual target bonus 4% of base salary. Our benefits for the US can be found here. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
