As a Vice President Control Manager within Wholesale Lending Services, you manage and develop a team of SME Control Program Managers while acting as a hybrid individual contributor. You direct control projects, resolve risk and control issues, and implement change management protocols to address operational and regulatory risks. You establish governance standards, drive process improvements, and foster a proactive risk culture.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage, coach, and develop a team of SME Control Program Managers including performance management and talent development. Act as a hybrid individual contributor and people manager, leading complex projects and guiding the team to deliver on control initiatives Direct and oversee execution of control projects and programs, ensuring timely closure of action items and conditions from Change Governance and initiative processes. Collaborate with Line of Business (LoB) Control Managers and cross-functional groups to resolve risk and control issues. Conduct end-to-end analysis of WLS/CB program risk and control environments. Lead Change Risk Governance and assessments for new business initiatives, product/service changes, and legal/regulatory changes. Identify and address gaps and weaknesses in the control environment; develop and implement risk mitigation strategies. Implement change management protocols to address program, operational, and regulatory risks. Assess risk for obligations, policies, procedures, and process changes. Monitor compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures to manage operational and regulatory risk exposure. Perform reviews and deep dives into transitions and migrations, delivering actionable solutions for risk mitigation and process improvement. Maintain awareness of significant risk and control issues, integrating them into project efforts.Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 12+ years relevant Banking and Financial Services experience. Demonstrate people management experience of at least 6 years. Apply knowledge of investment banking products, including loans. Consult with project stakeholders to facilitate compromises and resolve conflicts. Operate effectively in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines. Manage projects and programs in operations environments. Drive risk-based process improvement and end-to-end risk management. Communicate and foster internal relationships with strong stakeholder management skills.Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
Risk certifications such as ORM, PRM, APRM, CIA, CRISC, or CORM. Leverage knowledge of NBIA, PSCM, and CRA for internal candidates. Project management certification and Lean/Six Sigma expertise. Build and foster internal relationships with a client service philosophy. Facilitate human change elements in project delivery. Adapt to global hours and flexible work schedules. Report and dashboard risks using advanced tools and techniques.
