In this role, as a Controls Engineer you will designing rotating equipment control system using PRISMIC products and various OEM’s PLC’s and IED’s. You will also work with a cross functional engineering team and project managers to execute customer/system requirements.
As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Leading the design of rotating machines and their auxiliary control systems.Reviewing electrical and control circuit designs and provide detailed markups to the drawing office team.Preparing and review hardware and functional design specifications.Developing detailed test specifications for both hardware and software testing.Programing PLCs using various OEM software to meet functional requirements.Creating configuration files for IEDs using multiple OEM tools.Performing wiring and set up contractor equipment for simulation and testing.Supporting product testing, integration activities, customer-site tests, and collaborate with tendering, sales, manufacturing, and commissioning teams.To be successful in this role you will:
Have proven experience in designing control equipment for electrical power systems, machinery, and process control applications.Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Controls, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering (or relevant discipline).Have experience in PLC/DCS programming and configuring controllers/IEDs; Codesys knowledge is desirable.Have the ability to interpret and design electrical circuit diagrams.Have the capability to wire and set up hardware for simulation and testing.Have competency in creating functional and hardware design specifications.Have knowledge of software-based microsystems/control systems and communication protocols such as Modbus TCP; IEC 61850 and digital substation experience is desirable.Have understanding of generator excitation, synchronization, and protection schemes, along with a strong commitment to safe working practices.Work in a way that works for you
