Controls Engineer
Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

Join a dynamic team on a 9-month contract-to-hire basis as a Controls Engineer with a focus on custom machine building in the Walker area. Ideal candidates have 5-7 years of experience in the controls space, capable of taking machines from concept to completion.

Diverse customer base spans multiple industries.Opportunity to move into a lead controls engineering role after integrating into the team

Responsibilities

Develop and implement controls for custom machines from concept to finish.Collaborate with a team of 8 software-focused controls engineers and a dedicated hardware team.Travel approximately 20% of the time, supporting projects primarily in South Carolina and occasionally in Mexico and Canada.Participate in both solo and team travel using rented vehicles or flights, with reimbursement for mileage and a per diem available.Work a flexible schedule starting around 7:30 AM, averaging a 45-hour work week.

Essential Skills

Experience with Siemens PLC programming from scratch.Ability to read and edit schematics/prints in Eplan, with AutoCAD as a transferable skill.Background in custom machine build/integrator environments.Familiarity with Fanuc for touch-up points.

\"Nice to have\" Skills & Qualifications

Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs from scratch is a plus.Knowledge of Ignition software.Experience with ABB robots is advantageous, though Fanuc is the primary focus.

Work Environment

Work in a new, collaborative facility with a large and clean shop floor. While travel is a component of the role, expect to engage with various work sites across industries such as food and beverage and automotive. The team values strong communication and flexibility, with opportunities for training and growth in a supportive environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
