Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

This position requires an experienced Controls Engineer to provide technical expertise and resources for the Body shop department. The ideal candidate is hands-on, enjoys working around machines, and can autonomously analyze, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical problems in manufacturing. Successful candidates will manage engineering projects related to electrical controls and programming while building strong relationships with union employees on the floor.

ResponsibilitiesProvide technical Controls Engineering expertise for the Body shop department.Analyze, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical problems in a manufacturing setting.Complete engineering projects related to electrical controls and programming.Work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision.Engage actively on the production floor and build relationships with union employees.Essential SkillsProficiency in troubleshooting and programming.Experience with HMI and PLC programming.Strong experience in Controls Engineering and Electrical Engineering.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with at least 7 years of post-school experience.Associates degree in Electrical Systems with 7+ years of experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment is preferred.Willingness to work all shifts including weekends.Work Environment

This role is situated within a heavily automated production and manufacturing environment (75%) and an engineering office (25%). The position is part of the body shop group, and personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, high-visibility vests, and arm covers, must be worn at all times. The role requires flexibility to work across three rotating shifts every 3-6 months, including 1st shift (6:30 am-2:30 pm), 2nd shift (2:30-10:30 pm), and 3rd shift (9:00 pm-6:30 am).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wentzville, Missouri.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $48.00/hr.
