Controls Engineer
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Controls Engineer to support the design and commissioning of control panels at a Google Data Center. This role begins with hands-on commissioning and panel design review, and will evolve into broader automation engineering responsibilities across multiple high-impact industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Initial Assignment:
+ Perform onsite commissioning at a local Google Data Center.
+ Review and validate control panel designs.
+ Conduct I/O loop checks and functional testing of control systems.
Long-Term Responsibilities:
+ Design, configure, and test PLC and/or DCS-based control systems.
+ Configure and test Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), preferably using FTView or Ignition.
+ Support commissioning activities across sectors including:
+ Data Centers
+ Power & Energy
+ Life Sciences
+ Troubleshoot and optimize automation networks.
+ Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure system reliability and performance.
+ Maintain documentation and adhere to industry standards and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications:
+ Minimum of 3 years of automation experience, preferably with PLC-based systems (Rockwell ControlLogix or Siemens S7).
+ Experience configuring and testing HMIs (FTView or Ignition preferred).
+ Strong experience in control panel design.
+ Proven experience performing loop checks and commissioning of PLC-based systems.
+ Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting automation networks.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Ability to work onsite and travel as needed for future projects.
Preferred Skills:
+ Familiarity with UL508A, NFPA, ISA standards.
+ Experience in data center environments or other mission-critical facilities.
+ Strong communication and documentation skills.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $135000.00/hr.
