Join a dynamic team dedicated to manufacturing high-quality motor vehicle parts and accessories, primarily focusing on aluminum alloy wheels. As a Controls Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing manufacturing processes, improving product quality, and fostering innovation in aluminum wheel production within our Columbus, IN operations.
Responsibilities
+ Design, program, and oversee the installation of machines and processes.
+ Manage project timelines and budgets effectively.
+ Build, program, or purchase necessary components to ensure project success.
+ Plan project details and communicate with other departments to enhance project outcomes.
+ Support control systems plant-wide for new equipment.
Essential Skills
+ Associates Degree in engineering.
+ 4+ years of relevant experience in controls engineering.
+ Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
+ Experience with CAD design, including plant layout and custom machine design.
+ Familiarity with Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Allen Bradley PLC systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with Cognex and Keyence Vision Systems.
+ Skills in control system design and electrical design.
+ Knowledge of 2D and 3D AutoCAD and Inventor software.
Work Environment
This role is set in a foundry environment, which can be warm. The paint process area is clean. Work hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM on the 1st shift with very minimal overtime. The company values its employees, offering a secure and stable work environment with only one layoff in the past 35 years. It provides an opportunity to engage with robotics in a large manufacturing setting.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $48.08/hr.
