Job Description
This is a contract position with a minimum duration of four months, potentially extending up to nine to twelve months. The role is open due to an individual retiring and multiple ongoing projects requiring support. The successful candidate will work on approximately twelve projects, including quoting and implementing equipment, robotics sorting, inspection machines, safety projects with plug interlocks, and custom and red light cameras.
ResponsibilitiesProgram PLCs effectively and efficiently.Read and edit schematics accurately.Work with vision systems and potentially Siemens PLCs.Collaborate on multiple projects simultaneously.Engage actively in a manufacturing automotive environment.Demonstrate teamwork and proactive initiative in project execution.Essential SkillsProficient in PLC programming from scratch.Experience in a manufacturing, automotive, production environment.Ability to read and edit using AutoCAD electrical, with familiarity in BrisCAD.Skillful in navigating quoting processes.Knowledge of vision systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Siemens programming.Familiarity with robotics, including Fanuc and Motoman.Understanding of Siemens PLCs and Fanuc robots.Work Environment
The work environment is a manufacturing automotive setting, where the main floor lacks air conditioning and can be loud and somewhat dirty. The position operates on the first shift from 7 AM to 3 PM, with flexibility for weekend work if necessary. Travel is limited to loyal suppliers and local customers, with optional trips to locations such as Lansing. The facility values long-term employees, with families working there since the 1980s. All training requests are honored, providing opportunities to gain experience on various systems.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
