Position Title: Sr. Service Technician (Remote)
Reports To: Director, Project Management

Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Service Technician to deliver exceptional technical support and service to our customers. This remote position requires strong experience in troubleshooting, control systems, and customer engagement, along with leadership and project management capabilities. The ideal candidate will be proactive, decisive, and capable of working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
This role involves a combination of remote work and occasional on-site presence. Candidates must be available to work night and/or early morning shifts (e.g., 5:00 PM – 1:00 AM or 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM), including weekends and holidays, to support 24/7 operations. Flexibility is essential, as hours may be adjusted to meet urgent service needs. A reliable home office setup with secure internet and professional communication tools is required.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership and mentorship to junior technicians.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams.Independently troubleshoot control systems and perform basic PLC programming.Read and interpret electrical schematics; create and revise control panel designs.Identify and implement improvements to control systems for enhanced efficiency.Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and hazard awareness.Operate hand and power tools, as well as electrical testing equipment, with proficiency.Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD and PLC programming platforms for diagnostics.Deliver remote technical support using VNC, VPN, and HMI/SCADA systems.Communicate effectively with client stakeholders to resolve system issues.Redline and interpret AutoCAD Electrical schematics for documentation and troubleshooting.Make authorized PLC code changes within established standards (Allen Bradley and Siemens).Maintain accurate service records and documentation.Draft and update standard operating procedures and technical documentation.Review system drawings during non-call hours to ensure readiness.Escalate unresolved issues to engineering or development teams as appropriate.Perform additional duties as required to support business needs.Required QualificationsEducation & Experience:
Associate degree or equivalent technical training in electrical, automation, or control systems.Minimum of 5 years of field experience in airport systems (e.g., passenger boarding bridges, baggage handling) and theme park environments.Proven expertise in troubleshooting Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs.Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar platforms (e.g., Revit, SolidWorks Electrical).Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead technical teams.Strong project management and multitasking skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-focused approach.Comfortable working in dynamic environments, including airports.Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.Technical Skills:
Proficient in ladder logic and function block diagram interpretation.Capable of navigating and modifying existing PLC code.Skilled in industrial network diagnostics and remote access tools.Experience with HMI/SCADA systems; advanced proficiency in Ignition software preferred.Strong documentation and technical writing abilities.Soft Skills:
Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication.Clear and concise written reporting of service activities and system status.Ability to remain calm and solution-oriented under pressure.Experience Level: Intermediate
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $58.00/hr.
