Job Title: Controls Engineer
Job Description

This position is a 100% onsite role located in Lincoln, NE, for a 12-month temporary assignment. The role is essential in driving digital transformation by implementing new processes and standard traceability systems, ensuring their seamless integration into existing operations. The goal is to support the roadmap towards achieving Lighthouse designation with the World Economic Forum.

ResponsibilitiesIntegrate and deliver digital/natively connected equipment from manufacturing plants.Manipulate data to ensure communication between legacy and new systems.Ensure Gateway devices are ready for downstream and upstream communication.Partner with Data-Flow teams to validate work prior to shipment.Lead digital manufacturing qualification assessments.Verify planned configuration against digital architecture and influence architectural strategy.Test validity of QR codes on targeted products and report issues.Implement Industry 4.0 Smart Factory solutions.Collect and develop improvement opportunities and digital apps from various sources.Improve industrial performance in a highly automated facility using Schneider Performance System techniques.Specify and quote new line architectures and industrial scenarios.Deploy Lean/6 Sigma tools.Manage system updates of the shopfloor's organizational structure when modifications are required.Increase digital acumen of site population.Network with digital communities to share and replicate best practices.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Informatics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.Strong interaction with hardware and communication networks.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.Experience in dealing with complexity and informing others.Leadership skills and understanding of hardware specifications.Knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and technical information presentation.Proficiency in CAD, CAD/CAM Circuit Design.3+ years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.Experience with data communication devices such as networking, wireless devices, gateways, routers, and cloud servers.SQL and SQL database knowledge.Background in wireless and wired communications protocols including Modbus, Ethernet/IP, CAN, Profibus.Extensive experience with OPC Unified Architecture platform.Understanding of HTTP protocol.Strong PLC programming skills in Unity and ProWORX.Experience configuring and designing HMI systems.Familiarity with vision systems like Cognex and Keyence.Knowledge of electronic circuits: digital, analog, power and high voltage.Ability to work independently in a multicultural virtual environment.Project management competency.Business knowledge and digital savvy profile.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 technologies.Automation and controls engineering expertise.Familiarity with Allen-Bradley programming.Knowledge of electrical systems.Proficiency in SQL databases.Work Environment

The role is based 100% onsite in Lincoln, NE, within a highly automated facility. The work environment involves engaging with a multicultural and virtual team across various functions. The facility utilizes advanced technologies and requires a professional attire suitable for a manufacturing setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
