What this job involves:
Join JLL's dynamic Work Dynamics controllership team as a Senior Accountant II, where you'll play a pivotal role in delivering accurate financial reporting for our integrated facilities management and project development services across the Americas.
This position combines technical accounting expertise with strategic business partnership, supporting SEC reporting requirements while driving process improvements in a fast-paced commercial real estate environment.
You'll work directly with complex service agreements, apply cutting-edge accounting standards like ASC 606, and contribute to JLL's continued growth through exceptional financial stewardship and cross-functional collaboration.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for Americas Work Dynamics business, ensuring critical deadlines are met with zero surprises
Prepare comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts and communicate necessary adjustments to leadership
Perform detailed variance analysis comparing current results to prior periods, investigating trends and documenting findings for management review
Ensure proper revenue recognition and contract setup across subservice lines while maintaining ASC 606 compliance standards
Execute Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls testing and assist in resolving accounting and internal control issues
Support external and internal audit processes by preparing detailed workpapers and responding to auditor inquiries
Mentor and manage 1 Staff Accountant either directly or via matrix reporting
Collaborate with Work Dynamics Finance team members including Business Partnering and FP&A to support business growth initiatives
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with 4+ years of professional accounting experience
Strong working knowledge of US GAAP principles and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with advanced Excel modeling capabilities
Demonstrated experience with financial process management and implementing accounting best practices
Analytical mindset with proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
Strong interpersonal skills with comfort level interacting with senior management
Detail-oriented approach with strategic and analytical thinking capabilities
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA certification or progress toward certification
Public accounting experience with Big Four or mid-tier firms
Experience with financial reporting systems and SEC registrant financial statement compilation
Background in commercial real estate or facilities management accounting
Previous experience mentoring junior team members
Familiarity with revenue recognition standards (ASC 606) in service-based industries
Experience working in matrix organizational structures
