Reporting to the VP Finance and IT, CFO, the Controller is responsible for providing financial insights to executive leadership, addressing escalations related to accounting, Order to Cash, and Procurement to Pay transactions, and improving working capital to ensure operational efficiency. This role oversees the company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with Mexican laws and regulations. Key responsibilities include managing accounting systems, leading budgeting and forecasting, providing financial analysis, supporting internal and external audits, and collaborating with executive management to develop financial strategies and policies. The position involves tracking and analyzing key performance metrics, offering actionable insights to enhance visibility for execution teams and control framework effectiveness. Additionally, the role focuses on identifying process improvements and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, thereby supporting robust compliance frameworks.
This position is part of the Finance team located in Tlanepantla, Mexico City, and will be on-site.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
Support business growth of the company from a financial control perspective in areas such as Billing, AR, AP, Treasury, Accounting, Taxes, Payroll, Inventory and Cost.Full understanding of company cycles such as Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Hire to RetireEnsure financial reporting and practices are in line with statutory law and corporate control procedures.Adhere to US GAAP, SOX, and local statutory accounting standards, delegated authority matrix, and various policies, and assess risk control as necessary.Provide expert analysis and evaluations to improve the results of the organization.Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of tax returns through proper supervision and review.Maintain an effective internal control system and liaise with external and internal auditors on the improvement of internal control procedures.Perform local treasury - cash management and forecasting.Lead the monthly and annual Working Capital budgeting process, provide ongoing forecasting updates, and analyze financial performance against budgets.Ensure the consistency of financial processes and procedures and continuously improve to gain efficiency.Actively take part and support the implementation of a new ERP. (D365)Establish relationships and work cooperatively across boundaries and the matrix to achieve results.Have a deep understanding of local business laws, policies, and regulations.The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. A Master’s Degree is nice to haveMinimum 5 years of relevant experience in similar rolesNon-modernized platform systems (e.g., Dynamics, NetSuite, Pace, etc.) as well as SAP. OTC, PTP, ATR process. USGAAP, Internal Controls, and external audit.Knowledge of Financial Information Standards, USGAAP, SOXKnowledge of MX tax laws and regulations, and aware of the latest tax requirements.Earlier experience in finance modules in ERP's (implementation).Abilities:
