Lead and manage the accounting function for a ~$200M organization, overseeing a team of 4 accounting professionals with hands-on support. Own and drive the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financials. Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet support. Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with US GAAP. Prepare, analyze, and present financial results to senior leadership, including variance explanations and key insights. Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and documentation. Serve as the primary accounting contact for external audits and related requests. Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, operations, and leadership on business initiatives. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy. Support ad-hoc analysis and special projects as the business continues to grow.
Responsibilities

+ Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with US GAAP.

Essential Skills
+ 6+ years of operational accounting experience.
+ 3+ years in a leadership role (ideally Controllership, but open to Accounting Managers, Assistant Controllers, etc.).
+ Strong skills in accounting, reporting, month-end processes, and financial reporting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 2+ years of Oracle experience.
+ 2+ years working within the retail/manufacturing industry.
+ Previous consulting experience with the ability to step in quickly and take on high-level reporting and leadership responsibilities with little training.
+ CPA certified (does not need to be active).
Work Environment
The candidate will work on-site at the corporate headquarters alongside the corporate finance/accounting team. The office provides large workspaces and has been mainly redone. On-site amenities include a gym and cafeteria. The VP of Finance/Accounting works remotely from Miami, while the rest of the team is local to MN.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Eden Prairie, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $80.00/hr.
