We are seeking a hands-on, plant-facing GovCon Manufacturing Controller to join our dynamic team. This role involves overseeing percent-complete revenue recognition under ASC 606, leading manufacturing cost accounting, providing bid support, and partnering financially with the General Manager at a defense/aerospace manufacturing site with revenues around $20M.
ResponsibilitiesPartner with senior management to define the global Finance and Accounting strategic plan, ensuring maximization of financial performance.Oversee the execution of the strategic plan and manage financial reporting, budgets, and internal processes.Lead the accounting department and advise management in interpreting and utilizing managerial accounting information.Manage all accounting operations while monitoring costs and capital expenditures.Direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.Develop business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.Ensure timely and complete financial statements and oversee the preparation of the corporate annual report.Accurately report financial results in accordance with GAAP and IFRS.Prepare reports summarizing and forecasting business activities and financial positions in areas of income, expenses, and earnings.Provide financial analyses for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.Gather and analyze data to inform commercial pricing decisions, ensuring competitive proposals and pricing decisions.Lead and direct a team of employees as defined by business needs.Manage staff selection, performance, development, and training processes to ensure competencies and capabilities to achieve business goals.Essential SkillsHands-on experience applying ASC 606 and percent-complete revenue recognition.Strong understanding of cost-to-cost revenue recognition and ability to explain ETC, revenue true-ups, and margin impact.Expertise in manufacturing cost accounting, including job costing, overhead allocation, labor utilization, and variance analysis.Exposure to government contracts and understanding of allowable vs. non-allowable costs.Organized documentation for audits and bids with FAR awareness.Operational partnership with GM & Ops and ability to translate financials into plant-floor actions.Bachelor's degree in Accounting is strongly preferred, or a Finance degree with a deep cost accounting background.Additional Skills & Qualificationsbackground in defense or aerospace manufacturing is a plus.CPA certification is advantageous.Prior audit defense experience and experience supporting bids/proposals.Multi-plant ERP exposure.Experience with Blue Origin or space programs.Work EnvironmentThe work environment is flexible and dynamic, constantly evolving to meet new challenges. The team is comprised of three individuals under two locations, including an AP/AR person and a senior accountant. The dress code is business casual, and the standard work hours are from 8 am to 5 pm onsite, with some flexibility in start times.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $180000.00/yr.
