We are seeking a dedicated Controller to manage accounting operations and ensure compliance with US GAAP. This role involves overseeing financial statements, improving accounting workflows, and supporting international expansion efforts.
ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day accounting operations, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, accounts receivable and payable, payroll, revenue recognition, fixed assets, and cash management.Produce accurate, timely financial statements in compliance with US GAAP, and monitor and apply changes in accounting standards.Maintain and improve the company's accounting workflows, systems, and internal controls to ensure scalability, repeatability, and audit readiness.Oversee all regulatory and tax compliance, including federal, state, and local filings with support from external advisors.Manage commission reporting and ensure accurate reconciliation across all revenue lines.Manage equity transactions, cap table maintenance, and related documentation in coordination with legal and the CFO.Interface with external auditors to manage the annual audit process from preparation to completion.Assess current financial systems and develop a roadmap to upgrade tools, tighten controls, and enhance reporting quality.Lead the evaluation and implementation of accounting software improvements and identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation.Support the CFO on banking relationships, treasury management, and financing or investor-related processes.Serve as a key advisor on international expansion, ensuring appropriate legal entity, reporting, and regulatory frameworks are in place.Essential Skills8-12 years of accounting and finance experience.CPA certification required.Proven track record of building and improving an accounting function.Experience with accounting, finance, audit, accounting management, equity accounting, and GAAP accounting.Strong communication skills.High ownership mentality.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in digital media, SaaS, or high-growth consumer company.Background as Director of Finance or Senior Accounting Manager in a VC or PE-backed company with $50M+ in revenue.Experience with complex close schedules and design of controls that withstand audits.Experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems is a strong plus.Work EnvironmentThis role offers a hybrid work environment with four days in the office and one day working from home on Fridays. The position provides an opportunity to work in a rapidly expanding digital media company, allowing for the building out of accounting functions and global expansion.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $240000.00 - $265000.00/yr.
