Job Title: ControllerJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will partner with senior management to define and execute the global Finance and Accounting strategic plan, ensuring the maximization of the company's financial performance. This role involves overseeing financial reporting, budgets, and internal processes while leading the accounting department and advising management.

ResponsibilitiesPartner with senior management to define the global Finance and Accounting strategic plan.Oversee the execution of the strategic plan, managing financial reporting, budgets, and internal processes.Lead the accounting department and advise management on managerial accounting information.Manage all accounting operations, monitor costs, and capital expenditures.Direct the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and report variances.Develop business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.Ensure timely and complete financial statements and oversee the preparation of the corporate annual report.Accurately report financial results in compliance with GAAP and/or IFRS standards.Prepare reports summarizing and forecasting business activity and financial positions.Provide financial analyses for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.Gather and analyze data to inform commercial pricing decisions and ensure competitive proposals.Lead and direct work for a team of employees, managing staff selection, performance, development, and training.Essential SkillsSignificant experience and knowledge in project accounting, particularly in the percentage-of-completion method (PCM).Manufacturing experience is required.Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and SumIFS.Experience with ERP systems, preferably Global Shop.Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.Ability to negotiate and influence, with sensitivity to the audience.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in aerospace or defense industries is preferred.CPA certification is advantageous.Experience in capital investment analysis, bid evaluation, proposal costing, and contract negotiation.Familiarity with ERP optimization and systems such as MRP and Epicor.Work Environment

The work environment is flexible and dynamic, constantly adapting to change. The team consists of three members located in both San Diego locations, including an AP/AR person and a senior accountant. The dress code is business casual, and the work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM onsite, with flexibility in start time.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of San Diego, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $175000.00 - $180000.00/yr.
