Job Description
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead all financial operations for our growing organization. This role oversees accounting, payroll, cash management, tax compliance, financial reporting, and administration of our ESOP and 401(k) plans. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and can manage both strategic financial planning and day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare and review month-end closing documents, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, monthly and quarterly financial statements, bonus calculations, and oversee accounting staff.
+ Review and approve ACH/wire payments and A/P check runs, process A/R deposits, upload positive pay files, monitor unusual transactions, and prepare weekly cash and investment reports.
+ Process salary payroll, generate payroll registers and master control reports, prepare direct labor ratio reports, and payroll worksheets for monthly financial statements.
+ Process monthly prepaid Sales and Use Tax, prepare and file quarterly Sales and Use Tax returns and payments, and coordinate quarterly and annual tax filings with the CPA firm.
+ Manage 401(k) administration including applications, payroll deductions, loans, bi-weekly contributions and employer match, reporting, employee statements, annual census, and Form 5500 filing.
+ Coordinate ESOP valuation, CPA audit documentation, allocations, distributions, loan payments, and employee census reporting.
+ Coordinate insurance audits and renewals, manage permits and licenses, prepare materials for the annual CPA financial statement audit, manage Seaport Owner Association bookkeeping.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
+ 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role
+ Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
+ Experience with payroll processing and tax compliance
+ Proficiency with accounting software like Quickbooks, Netsuite and Microsoft Excel
+ Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Proven experience in manufacturing accounting, including detailed understanding of COGS, standard costing, job costing, inventory valuation, WIP, and variance analysis
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ CPA or CMA certification
+ Experience with ESOP administration and compliance
+ Experience with 401(k) plan administration
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment
+ Familiarity with job cost accounting
+ Experience with software implementation
+ Industry experience in manufacturing background
Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Redwood City, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $57.00/hr.
