Controller
Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will play a key part in overseeing financial operations, managing staff, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. This position requires someone with strong attention to detail who thrives in a leadership role and can work effectively with senior management. Responsibilities: • Supervise and manage the performance of staff across accounts payable, accounts receivable, reception, human resources, and cost analysis functions. • Build and maintain strong relationships with banking institutions to support financial operations. • Oversee the preparation and execution of month-end and year-end closings, including the development of financial statements. • Coordinate inter-company activities across multiple entities to ensure seamless financial processes. • Collaborate closely with senior management and C-suite executives to provide financial insights and strategic guidance. • Ensure compliance with auditing standards and regulatory requirements, including DCAA guidelines. • Utilize accounting software systems and ERP solutions to optimize financial operations and reporting. • Monitor budget processes and provide recommendations for cost improvements. • Develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and accuracy within financial systems. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required. • Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management or accounting roles. • Proficiency in accounting software systems and ERP solutions. • Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting functions. • Familiarity with DCAA compliance and auditing practices. • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor staff effectively. • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical abilities. • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with senior management and executive teams.
